Vessel Titling and Registration
All boats operating on Florida’s public waterways must be titled and registered in accordance with Chapter 328, Florida Statute.
- Can be registered for one or two years
- The purchaser has 30 days to title and register the new or used vessel
- Owner must have proof of purchase date aboard the vessel if operating within the 30-day period
- Non-residents must register their out-of-state vessels in Florida if the vessel is used in Florida’s waterways for more than 90 days
- Operating an unregistered vessel after 30 days is a second-degree misdemeanor
