Tag, Title, and Registration

The Seminole County Tax Collector operates as an independent constitutional officer and serves as an agent for the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. Our office handles various motor vehicle and vessel transactions, including title transfers and registrations.

Renewal Options

Renew online and receive your registration through the mail. Simply scan the QR code on your registration renewal and enter your license number or PIN. Click here to renew online now.

License Plate Expiration and Renewal

Most license plates expire at midnight on the registered owner’s birthday. You can renew your registration up to 90 days before the expiration date. To complete your renewal, you will need: 

  • Your renewal notice 
  • Your registration or license plate number 
  • Proof of insurance

Two-Year Registration Renewal:

During the renewal period, you have the option to purchase a 12 or 24-month registration for your vehicle (fees are calculated based on this renewal period). Please note that any unused time on the registration is non-refundable. 

Exemptions to Biennial Registration: 

The following types of registrations are not eligible for the 24-month renewal option: 

  • Trucks with a gross weight of 8,000 lbs. or more 
  • Registrations with restricted license plates 
  • Dealer registrations 
  • Transporters 
  • Government vehicles 
  • Out-of-state military vehicles 
  • Semi-trailers 
  • National Guard vehicles

Visit a Self-Service Renewal Kiosk

Our self-service tag renewal kiosks are conveniently placed in two Publix locations across the county and are available to all Florida residents. 

To renew at one of our kiosks, please bring:  

  • Renewal notice 
  • License plate number 
  • Debit or credit card 

You must clear all stops on your driving record, such as unpaid tolls, tickets, or suspensions, before you are eligible to renew at the self-service renewal kiosk. Additional fees apply.

Renew In-Office

Tag renewals are offered at all Seminole County Tax Collector locations. 

Please bring:  

  • Your renewal notice 
  • Your registration or license plate number 
  • Proof of insurance 

If you have ten or more registration renewals to process, you must contact our office at (407) 665-1000 or CustomerService@SeminoleCounty.tax to make special arrangements.
