Elected by the citizens of Seminole County, the Tax Collector is an independent constitutional officer authorized by Florida’s Constitution to send tax bills, collect tax payments (ad valorem, non-ad valorem, and tangible personal property taxes), approve deferrals, and sell tax certificates on properties with delinquent taxes. After collecting taxes, the Tax Collector distributes property taxes to local governments and taxing authorities to fund services such as schools, roads, cities, and parks.
Most Tax Collectors in Florida also serve as agents for additional state agencies, including the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles, the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the Florida Department of Health, and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

Our offices provide motor vehicle and driver license services for Seminole County residents only. Concealed weapons permits, birth certificates, hunting and fishing licenses and self-service tag renewal kiosks are available to all Florida residents.
