Scam Text Alert - Be Aware!

The Seminole County Tax Collector’s Office is sharing an important warning from the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (FLHSMV) regarding a recent text message scam targeting Florida drivers. 

Residents have reported receiving fraudulent texts claiming they have an unpaid traffic ticket. The message threatens to suspend their driver license.

REMEMBER:  The Seminole County Tax Collector’s Office, FLHSMV and Toll Authorities will never contact you via text message demanding payment or threatening suspension or arrest.

If you receive a suspicious message:

  • Do not click any links.
  • Do not share personal or financial information.
  • Report it to the Federal Trade Commission and local law enforcement immediately.
During the month of March, FLHSMV will be upgrading driver license equipment at select branch offices. Installations will begin at 3:00 pm on the scheduled dates.
Please note that driver’s license services will not be available at the affected branch beginning at 3:00pm on the day of installation. Customers may visit one of our other branch offices for assistance during this time. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding as we work to improve our services.
